Welcome to High Street Church of the Nazarene!
As you browse our site, we want to be sure you know that wherever you are in life…you’re welcome here!
At High Street Nazarene our goal is to Help people move toward hope in Jesus Christ!
It’s the people that make High Street Nazarene a great church!
We’re praying that you might be one of them!
And, don’t let the fact that this church is more than 70 years old make you think it’s not relevant!
The truth is, we are a hard-working church that is re-creating a vibrant,
exciting and life-changing future for the people of Springfield and around the world!

We believe that Celebrating, Cultivating and Contributing are three key experiences
to help you mover toward Jesus Christ!
Celebrate: Our Relationship with God
Celebrating both in community and individually what God is doing in our lives and in our church.
We celebrate big on the weekend and our current celebration happens on Sunday Mornings at 10:15 AM.
Cultivate: Our Most Important Relationships
With Jesus Christ
With other Believers
With people who are not yet Believers
Contribute: To The Mission
Contributing our talents, time, passions, and resources to further Jesus’ mission in this world.
Here – Serving at High Street Nazarene
Near – Serving the Springfield Community
Far Away – Serving nationally and internationally

Our measures are the set of attributes in an individuals life that define or reflect the accomplishment of our mission.  It is our portrait of a disciple and the definition of spiritual maturity.  Our hope is that those who are part of High Street Nazarene will be moving spiritually…toward hope in Jesus Christ!

V – Volunteering your time, talents and passions to accomplish helping people move toward hope in Jesus Christ
I – Interacting in healthy relationships with others in the church
N – Not silent. Intentionally investing, inviting, cultivating and planting seeds about the opportunity in others.
G – Giving your financial resources to see the mission of helping people move toward hope in Jesus Christ accomplished.

We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, who reveals himself as Father, Son and Spirit. We believe in Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man at the same time, who became like us to bring about our salvation. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is active in the world, bringing us to salvation.
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, giving us all we need to know about how to be saved. We believe that we are all sinners by both nature and act and need God’s forgiveness and cleansing. We believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross and that, by trusting in His death, we can be restored to a right relation to God.
We believe that God has enabled us to turn to Him from sin but that He has not forced us to do so. We believe that each person must repent, turn away from sin, and trust Christ to accept him or her. We believe that when we turn from sin and trust in Christ, the old record of sin is wiped clean, and we are born anew, thus becoming part of the family of God.
We believe that after being born anew, we need the fullness of God’s Spirit in our hearts.  When we make a complete
commitment to Him, He cleanses our spirit, fills us with His perfect love, and gives us the power to live victoriously.
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, carrying on His mission through the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe in baptism and urge people to be baptized as Christians. We believe in the Lord’s Supper. We believe that God can heal.  We pray for healing.  We also believe that He can work through medical science.
We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again. We believe that everyone will face the judgment of God with its rewards and punishments.
