SUNDAY MORNING
GO THE DISTANCE by Ed Rowell
John Paulsen: LIFE Class
Sundays at 9:00 AM – Room 101

All of us face hardships and the inevitable pains of life. Yet few of us will get up and run again, eventually crossing the finish line triumphantly, while others will trip over that first hurdle and never get up out of the dirt. Failure is often nothing more than a few simple errors in judgement, repeated consistently over time. Real success is the implementation of simple disciplines into our routines and practicing them consistently over time. These disciplines will lead you to the authentic success we all seek only when they are focused on our God=-given purpose.

HOW HAPPINESS HAPPENS by Max Lucado
Brenda Vinson: Faith Builders Class
Sundays at 9:00 AM – Room 110

Beginning in January we will be studying how to find lasting joy in a world of comparisons, disappointments and unmet expectations. By looking at several “one another” statements in the Bible we will see how the happiest people on earth aren’t the ones who have the most but those who are willing to give the most away. Max Lucado walks us through ways to bring a cascade of kindness in his newest book titled “How Happiness Happens”. Even thought we can’t solve every problem we can bring smiles to a few faces! Join us and start 2020 in a Happiness Mode!

THE PROPHETS
Jim Williams: Come Join Us In The Word Class
Sundays at 9:00 AM – Room 100A

Looking forward to a special event is always exciting. Jesus’ birth was a special event that took place at a specific time in history. However, this event did not happen without advanced notice. The Prophets foretold the birth of the Messiah hundreds of years before it happened. Throughout the Old Testament, the prophets pointed forward to a time when the Savior would come. The message of these prophesies was intended to give hope and prepare the world for His birth. Yet, there is another event prophesied that will take place in the future. Jesus’ second coming is something we should look forward to with hope and anticipation.

During this quarter we will look at how the Prophets pointed toward Jesus’ coming and the good news they proclaimed. We will study and think about the importance of Jesus’ first coming, looking forward to His second coming – both celebrating His birth and His approaching return!

NO OTHER GODS
Steve and Linda Weller: Alive and Forgiven Class
Sundays at 9:00 AM – Room 102

We often think of idols as ancient graven images but God’s people still battle idolatry every day. Our idols look more familiar: money, fame, power, work, ministry, and people. In this study, we learn to identify the gods we unknowingly serve and discover the lies they tell us. As we dethrone our modern-day idols, we will discover Jesus can do what no other god can do.

WHEN GOD DOESN’T FIX IT by Laura Story
Lacy Arriaga: Unite Class
Sundays at 9:00 AM – Room 303

Laura Story’s life took an unexpected turn when her husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Their lives would never be the same. The life Laura had dreamed of was no longer possible. And yet in struggling with God about how to live with broken dreams, Laura has found joy and a deeper intimacy with Jesus.

Laura helps us understand we aren’t the only ones whose lives have taken unexpected turns. She examines the brokenness of some of the heroes of our faith, and show how despite their flaws and flawed stories, God was able to use them in extarordinary ways. And it was not because of their faith, but because of the faithfulness of their God. God may not fix everything. In fact, although your situation might not ever change or get better, with Jesus you can.

LIFEGROUPS
A LifeGroup is 5-12 people who gather in a leader’s home on a weekly basis to share food, fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. LifeGroups exist to accomplish two goals: to encourage and challenge one another to grow spiritually and to offer an opportunity to connect, besides the regular church service, that may be initially less intimidating to those interested in finding out more about Jesus. Sometimes the best description is simply a group of people who want to become more like Christ. If you are interested in joining a LifeGroup please call the Church Office 937.323.9686 and we will help you get Connected.
